Bye Bye

OK, so due to various different things and reasons this blog is going to be stopped. I currently can’t keep up with it and because my parents would only moan if they know about it, it makes life a whole lot harder.

Shall still be reading blogs just not writing them. Not that I exactly wrote exciting blogs, unlike the rest of the world, so I highly doubt they’ll be missed much.

But yeah. Basically say bye bye to this blog for a while. Don’t know when or if it will ever start up again but it won’t be much of a loss if it doesn’t.

Bye 2009, Hello 2010

Apologies for the lack of updates recently, its been a bit manic over christmas/new year, as it always is, and I’ve been ill so haven’t had any motivation to do anything. Apologies in advance for the lack of photos too. My camera sucks and my phone’s currently dead.

Christmas was fab! I am the proud owner of an ipod touch! Wooo! As well as various bath smellies, stationary of all kinds, make up, money, and so and so forth.

Had one set of grandparents down Christmas eve to Boxing Day. It was an interesting time. We watched Dr Who, with my grandma spending the whole time going ‘what did he say?’ and my granddad commenting on the set (he use to be a stage manager). We played some mind reading games which are infuriating if you don’t know how its done.

Then it was up to see the other side of the family Boxing Day. I watched Goodnight Mr Tom and was laughed at by the younger cousins for crying at it, (‘It’s only a film why are you crying weirdo?’) before filling ourselves to the brim with another christmas dinner (my Gran feeds the 5 thousand whenever she has guests). More mind reading games, well the same but we knew how it was done this time.  We also had a table tennis tournament, I lost. Typical.

The following Monday it was up to see yet another branch of the family with more food and mind reading but this time a card game called spoons too!

Tuesday was spent having lunch out with a friend and then going to see Dick Whittington all good fun!

Thursday/Friday was a New Year party, didn’t really enjoy that party too much. Being 17 sucks because you’re not put in with the all the children but when the adults talk to you its in a patronising way. Great.

After that nothing much has happened except the arrival of illness and the start of sixth form. Unfortunatly, due to being ill, and a snow day haven’t made it into sixth form so far this year. Which is a shame cause I miss my friends!

So not the greatest start to 2010. But hopefully things will improve. At least 2009 ended on a high.

Sick to my back teeth with orthodontist!

So another trip to the orthodontist two days before Christmas. I was hoping for an early Christmas Present. Something along the lines of ‘You’re orthodontic treatment ends here, now don’t ever come back!’ But noooooo my teeth have to be all stupid and slip out of line the moment I forget to wear my retainers for a couple of nights. So this 7 year treatment is going to last for another year. Well ain’t that just lovely?

Admittedly it has done my teeth a blummin lot of good. As shown by these before and after models of my teeth. (Before is before anything. After is after three years of a twin block brace to move the jaw and 4 years of a train track brace (the most common brace))

Before

Before

After

After

It is slightly heartening to see these as after 7 years of treatment where you yourself can’t see much difference, even though other people can and comment on how ugly you were before loudly(!), as I can now see that 7 years is worth it. But this final year is really just taking the mick. And to add salt to injury I may have to wear a permanent retainer. So those elocution lessons  I’m meant to be having so I can pass my Drama exam are going to be a lot more work than I first thought if I have to wear a dumb retainer for the rest of my life…

Rant over.

Happy Birthday to Harry Judd, even though he wont read this.

Merry Christmas to you all! Can’t wait to hear about everyone’s Christmas’s! I’m sure they’ll be much more exciting than my predictable one. Never changes. Every year it’s the same. But anywho, the presents are always good. As are the early morning Christmas Church Services (apart from the early morning bit! :P )

Merry Christmas!

Go Graphic If You Want To!

WE. ARE. PARAMORE!!!!!

Apologies for the rubbish photos, I used my phone camera and it’s not the greatest camera in the world.

Last night was AMAZING! My friend Jenn and I headed down to London to Wembley Arena to see Paramore.
Paramore Rock Wembley ArenaWembley Arena isn’t as big as I thought it was but the atmosphere there is incredible! It was only half full unfortunately but we only noticed when the lights were up. When the bands were performing it could’ve easily have been full with the amount of singing and screaming going on.

The first support band on was Now Now Every Children.  They are FAB live! Loved every minute of their set. I’d definitely recommend them and I hope that they’ll do well and not fade away like most support bands seem to do.

There was another band after them but I can’t remember what they were called…mainly because I didn’t enjoy them as much as I did Now Now Every Children so didn’t take much notice of their name…

After the unknown band was You Me At Six! They got about as many screams as Paramore! It was a fantastic atmosphere and there were definitely some people who went to see You Me At Six more than Paramore judging by the ‘Kiss And Tell’ tshirts!

Then was the band we’d been waiting for…’WE. ARE. PARAMORE!!!!!!!!!’

They played for an hour and 15 minutes which was a shame because they could’ve gone on but hey it was a great show so I’m not gonna complain too loudly!

The play list included, Crushcrushcrush, Misery Business, Brick by Boring Brick, Ignorance,  Pressure, All We Know, That’s What You Get, Where The Lines Overlap, Misguided Ghosts and some other songs that I can’t quite remember on 3 hours sleep.

After about 30mins of playing, Hayley stopped everyone and called up two people on stage. Turns out the guy had written to Josh and asked if he could propose on stage to his girlfriend! It was fantastic and she seemed really happy and shocked.

On the way home Jenn and I spent pretty much the whole hour discussing the concert, however most of that was spent discussing Hayley’s AWESOME mike which we were both very taken with.

Then it was a sleep wakeover at Jenn’s house and a lot of gossiping about the usual, guys and friends. Good times!

Invisible

Invisible

Everyone just walks past

Everyone looks

But no one sees

I begin to wonder

Do I exist?

Am I real?

Or am I just a lost wandering spirit

Everyone looks

But no one sees

Look right through me

Talk right past me

What do I even care?

It’s not like I’m even there to see.

I’m only here to be used by you

When your friends are gone and I’m all that’s left.

Everyone looks

But no one sees

If I go who will care?

Who will notice I’m not there?

There’s nothing left for me now.

Nothing to see.

No one to hear.

Everyone looks

But no one sees.

There’s no lost spirit

Wandering the streets

Everyone looks

Everyone sees

A plain grave

Simply inscribed.

Unknown Girl

Whose actions were not seen but who affected many.

Invisible. Exactly how I feel right now. Exactly how I’m being treated right now.

Never mind. It inspires creativity. So I guess thats a good thing

One For James

Wednesday night I went with my drama class and the yr 13 drama class to see A State Affair. The show is about the stories of young people in Bradford. Most of them were hooked on drugs of some sort, mainly Heroine, others were young girls who were abused sexually, physically and verbally by some kind of relation or step relation. It is one of the most upsetting plays I’ve seen. One guy explained how addictive heroine was and how much they needed it, at which point many of us cried.
Before the show we met the director, producer (very camp – he was made to be a producer) and two of the actors. We did a few workshops with them and then looked at the beginning of the script which had some two articles called ‘A History of The Estates’ and ‘An Introduction To ‘Underclass”.

Before I continue I should point out that half the drama class in both yr 12 and yr 13 are law or politics and government students as well as drama students. Thus we were in for a bit of a treat debate wise.

The initial topic raised was:
‘Are Children better raised educationally and socially when they have both parents? Or can single parent families do just as well?’

This led on to:
‘Who should get benefits?’
‘How can they prove that they qualify for benefits?’
‘Do women only have children because it gives them a right to a house?’
‘Should the right to a house be removed?’
‘Is it just the parents who affect the children’s attitudes/behavior? Are there other factors involved?’
‘Who is in the ‘underclass’?’
‘Do we have a responsibility to help them?’
‘Do we have a responsibility to help people in this class around the worlds, perhaps even whole countries?’
‘Can we help other countries if we are not fixed? Should we make sure that we have helped our own country so it is standing on stable foundations before reaching out?’
‘Are people to proud to ask for help?’
Personally I think that children with a single parent can be raised just as well as those with two parents. As long as they get the love they need and the care they need then that shouldn’t stop them doing as well. We, as a society, have almost drilled into everyone that if you are from that kind of background then you will not do as well. If we changed that belief and attitude and gave those children some belief in themselves then perhaps they would do better. It is our society who has, perhaps, made these people become part of the ‘underclass’ surely it should be us who helps them then? If we were in need we’d want others to help us. If people can get past their proudness and ask for help that will also help us to help them. I also think that we should help other countries. Especially seeing as we have the ability to do so. But first we need to sort ourselves out so we have some legs to stand on before we go out into the rest of the world.
You may disagree. I’d be interested in hearing your own thoughts on this. I thought it was a very interesting topic.
But for now I shall leave you with the lines that made most of us cry.
[Not exact quote but it this is the main gist]

‘You need it so bad. If a dealer comes along and offers you £100 and a bag of herione if you go to this address and slash whoever opens the door you agree to it. So you go to the address and knock on the door and a 5 year old kid opens the door. And you wish it was a drug dealer, or a murderer. But no. It’s a 5 year old kid. And you slash them.’

Panto season! Oh Yes It Is!

Yes Im a rubbish blogger. Time is of the essence for these things clearly. Never mind my life hasnt been all that exciting anyway.

Sixth Form turned colourful when we celebrated Children In Need this year. It was fancy dress, of course. And this year was Heros and Villians! My friend Jenn and I teamed up as Super Skittles – The Most Colourful Superheros Around!

Super Skittles - Saving The World One Rainbow At A Time

Also been to see New Moon, and laughed ALL the way through it. Thankfully other people were laughing too! Which made me and Jenn feel a lot better!

Team Edward <3

Yes I am Team Edward, also Team Rob! My latest celeb crush :P

The Railway Children is well under way, just about got the first, and most complicated song under my belt. Now we just have to make a train using body propping (our bodies) and have it move and pick up passengers in just 60 bars…that should be fun!

Yes it is Panto Season (I heard that Oh No Its Not!). I went last night to watch am dram group perform their annual panto and died while watching it. Im afraid to say that it was awful. Which is a shame because they’re are some very good actors in there, but they are in the minority and the others show them up. While I cringed in my seat I realised that even though most of them were rubbish I’d much rather be on the stage with them, worrying about what I had to do next, rather than watching from the audience dying. Next year I shall have to do that.

Dont think theres much else to say…parents are back anyway so have to go so they dont find out about this blog :P

All That Jazz

So had the first of two Chicago workshops. Went very well. I’ll try stick up some photos later. The woman leading it is very pretty and talented. Everyone was jealous. However Im proud to say I know the dance for the first half of the song! :D

Other than that not alot has been happening other than getting ready for Barcelona! Woo!

I am also looking at moving the KEP Forum as the current one is on a useless host (it keeps having maintance checks and no ones being told about it.) So I’m having a flick through some other hosts and I’ll give the other co-hosts a chance to choose one and we’ll go from there!

Thats about everything for today

Bye!

He’s cute though! Don’t you think?

Being in the year above means he’s not in any of my classes (boo!) HOWEVER he is around and about…so I’ve said hi to him and he just gave me a dazed and confused look..but thats normal apparently (according to my bro who is friends with his bro)

He’s in a band called The Rymans – http://www.myspace.com/thefuckingrymans

Other news would be that I’m going to do a Chicago workshop next month

All That Jazz

All That Jazz

I’m going to audition to be in West Side Story at school (bonus is that no one else, as far as I know can get quite as high as I can…although I cant quite reach the top C needed for Maria’s part I CAN stretch my vocal range to get that high with some practice…so I MAY have a good chance of getting lead female!!!)

I Feel Pretty!

I Feel Pretty!

I’m also going to be in the Railway Children
